OUR MONTHLY CALENDAR
MARCH 2010
At Augustine House, we believe in promoting and supporting an
independent lifestyle. Many of our programmes begin as areas of
interest for some, and expand to meet the interest/needs, of
many others. Our programmes occur in large groups, and also in
smaller or one to one settings.
In Recreation Services, we strive to meet the needs of our
residents by developing programmes, which meet the social,
physical, spiritual, and psychological needs of our residents.
This is done through collaboration and consultation with staff
and residents.
Some of our activation programmes include fitness classes
where balance, strength, range of motion and stamina are the
focus, bingo, crib, intergenerational opportunities with
children from the community, bus trips to theatres and
restaurants, musical entertainment, gardening, sewing, and
discussion groups.
Augustine House hosts Happy Hour twice a week in our Main
Lounge, serving cocktails, wine, beer, soft drinks, and fresh
popcorn.
Movies may be enjoyed on the big screen in our Media Room,
and the Library has material in print, audio and visual format,
as well as two Internet ready computers.
Following our philosophy of choice, we encourage residents to
maintain their activities and participate in programmes, which
interest them.
Please come in and sit by the fire with a friend, walk the
grounds and observe the abundant wildlife, or challenge yourself
during fitness class. We will do our best to make you feel at
home, and part of the Augustine House Community.
