We embrace a program philosophy, which assumes that residents will be independent, self directed and responsible for their own health care and we believe that assistance is best provided on a periodic, pre-planned basis. We believe that with a strong commitment to this concept by all concerned, we can do an excellent job of maintaining many residents with some degree of impairments in their own apartment residences. Each resident brings their own set of needs, abilities and preferences. We have a system in place, which allows us to offer unique services designed to accommodate the individual resident and their families.

Assisted Living Services are available in all private pay and funded suites. Residents requesting additional services in private pay suites will receive an assessment by our Manager of Resident Services to determine the level of assistance required. Rates correspond to the amount of services required as well as number of visits to the suite per day and are charged monthly. It is also possible to arrange for an a la carte charge for a minimal and/or temporary service. The Fraser Health Authority arranges assessments for those residents who have qualified for subsidized accommodation and supportive/assisted living services. Services are provided by Augustine House Resident Attendants.

Assisted Living Services

  • PERSONAL LAUNDRY - the laundering of personal linens and/or clothing

  • ADDITIONAL HOUSEKEEPING - assistance with housekeeping over and above the basic provided

  • MEAL REMINDERS - a call or visit to the resident to remind of mealtime

  • ESCORT TO MEALS - accompanying to and from meal

  • DAY/NIGHT MONITORING - a regular visit to ensure safety

  • DRESSING/UNDRESSING - assistance with aspects resident is unable to manage

  • BATHING ASSISTANCE - assistance with preparing the bath; helping the resident in and out; assistance with washing

  • MEDICATION MONITORING - reminding and overseeing the resident to take prescribed medication at the appropriate time. Medication is located in their suite and has been dispensed by a pharmacist or family member.
